I was all set to see the door This is in spite of the fact that Charmed Life was a book that came into my head almost whole and entire from the start. Chrestomanci Chrestomanci Chrestomanci Chrestomanci | Jenny ;s Books Charmed Life, The Lives of Christopher Chant, and Conrad ;s Fate are the three books that are sort of about being Chrestomanci . Oh, she's written so many good books! I was quite shattered in this early book when my main protagonists knocked on a door. View/Purchase: The Book Depository, Chapters/Indigo.ca, Goodreads. I especially like The Lives of Christopher Chant and Charmed Life (of the Chrestomanci books), but Archer's Goon is very fun, and Dogsbody is so lovely. I can't remember the book I read him in, but thinking about it now it was probably Charmed Life. I only knew there was going to be a great enchanter in it – I had left a sort of hole in the story where Chrestomanci was going to be, and all I did was trust that someone would be along to fill that hole. I was intrigued But I do know that she and the tiger were not repeated in other worlds, like Cat in the Chrestomanci series. I first read one of her books in the early 80's, when it was still quite new. The German title was "Wir sind aufs Hexen ganz versessen"; it's a translation of "Charmed Life", the first book she wrote in the "Chrestomanci" series. The Pinhoe Egg, by Diana Wynne Jones – I assume The Chronicles of Chrestomanci includes the books about Chrestomanci in the order in which they were written, rather than chronological order. Frustrated that the witches I couldn't be more honored than I am to be able to write a review for such a wonderful book as “Charmed Life.” I' ve heard of this author I was heartbroken when I had to say good-bye to the characters at the end, which turned into more of a see-ya later for some of them when I found out this book is part of a series. But trouble starts brewing the moment the two orphans are summoned to live in Chrestomanci Castle.
